About Us

We are a members' club, run by volunteers. A Management Committee is elected by the members, for the benefit of members.  We are non-profit-making.  All the fees and sponsorship we take in are ploughed back to the objects of the club.

With around 300 members, providing opportunities for young people to receive coaching in a friendly environment, Tiverton swimming club is thriving. Whether for the very young gaining basic skills, or competing at various levels, the aim for all is to achieve their maximum potential, while at the same time having fun.

The club has 3 sections. Starting with Friday night ‘Learn to Swim’ where children as young as 5 follow an ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) structured programme.

From this, progression is to Wednesday ‘Badge Night’. Again following an ASA program with targets of Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, this series develops swimming technique, speed, stamina and other water skills. Once Gold is attained, individuals are eligible to join the squad sessions.

Run by the Head Coach, Steve Carder, the squad sessions are held on a variety of days and times throughout the week. Steve has brought with him exciting plans and together with the committee intends to develop the club further.

The club has been awarded the Swim 21 accreditation. This ‘Quality Mark’ recognises nationally and regionally commitment to providing safe, effective services focussing on enabling athletes, coaches, and administrators to thrive in the best possible environment.
