Welcome to Tiverton Swimming Club


Tiverton Swimming Club aims to promote the sport of swimming by providing a training program to help swimmers reach their full competitive potential according to their individual levels of ambition, ability and application.


The club caters for swimmers of all ages and abilities with a progressive coaching program leading through our squad structure. Various levels of competition are catered for with training tailored to suit, from in-house galas and team league competitions, through to county, regional and, ultimately, national competition level.

Tiverton Swimming Club has been hit by the recent icy weather as training sessions have had to be cancelled.  The club’s swimmers should be preparing for the Devon County Championships which are being held over several weekends between 7th February and 7th March 2010. 

All swimmers will be competing within their age group as of 7th March 2010.

Back from the Christmas break, Tiverton Swimming Club squad members step up their training in readiness for the Devon County Championships which will be held at Exe Valley Leisure Centre, Tiverton and Central Park, Plymouth during February and March.

Tiverton Swimming Club is looking for permanent swimming teachers for:

Fridays 18:40–19:20 and 19:20-20:00

Wednesdays 18:15-19:15

You need to have a good knowledge of the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming and hold a Swimming Teaching Qualification and an up to date CRB Check. Please email me to apply or for more information.



Eighteen Tiverton Club squad members have qualified to compete in the Devon County Championships in 2010 which will be held by Tiverton Swimming Club at Exe Valley Leisure Centre and by Plymouth Leander at Central Park, Plymouth during February and March.

Seventy Two swimmers aged from 6 to 57 years competed in 19 events for awards in this year’s Club Championships held at Exe Valley Leisure Centre, Tiverton.

The club swimmers recorded 168 personal best times with fantastic performances from all of the team.

Tiverton Swimming Club Star, Sue Haigh, took seven gold’s and one silver in the British Gas ASA Masters in Sheffield.  Sue took first place in the female (55-59 years) 100m individual medley, 50m and 200m butterfly, 50m, 100m, 200m and 800m freestyle.  It was a close finish in the 400m freestyle where Sue achieved second place for silver.



Mole Valley Farmers sponsored Tiverton Swimming Club tracksuits which have enabled the club members to look smart at competitions which they attend all over the South West of England and Nationally.



Five young Tiverton swimmers achieved their Gold Challenge Award.  Lauren Aitchison, Chloe Greenslade, Ryan Saunders, Gemma Owen and Rosie Jones all completed the gruelling challenge.
